fluidOps Solutions for EMC® Atmos™
The fluid Operations™ solutions for EMC® Atmos™ leverage eCloudManager™ and Information Workbench™ technologies to deliver a complete cloud storage management platform for EMC Atmos, including:
- cloud storage monitoring and provisioning functionalities,
- an end user self-service portal for requesting cloud storage resources, and
- a metadata management and rich search front-end.
EMC Atmos Monitoring and Provisioning
The eCloudManager™ makes it easy for cloud service providers to provision, manage and monitor their storage cloud offering. The eCloudManager integrates with Atmos Cloud Storage and data center resources directly. The information gathered on a close to real-time basis is semantically correlated and stored in an in-memory database, allowing for out-of-the-box monitoring and management across the complete IT stack. Thus, multiple Atmos cloud storage systems, multiple enterprise storage arrays, multiple compute infrastructures (be it hypervisors or physical blades), and multiple Virtual Landscapes equipped with enterprise applications such as SAP®, Oracle® or Microsoft® can be managed and controlled from the eCloudManager user interface.
Based on the tight integration with EMC Atmos cloud storage using REST API, the eCloudManager also delivers cloud management functionalities.

EMC Atmos Self-Service Portal
EMC Atmos Intelligent Metadata Management
The Information Workbench provides the following functionalities as Atmos front-end:
- Semantic Data Integration: semantically interlink data in Atmos with that in other systems, to provide a unified view and cross the chasm between enterprise-internal and public data.
- Rich metadata management: benefit from semantic representation of metadata using Semantic Web and Linked Data standards; can be obtained from existing metadata, or automatically enriched.
- Collaborative Metadata Generation and Annotation: use Semantic Wiki to easily annotate resources, establish relationships, or add free-text documentation, and allow for authoring and curation of metadata.
- Semantic Data Access: leverage semantic technologies for improved search, presentation, and collaborative augmentation of data; visually explore content elements in Atmos, analytics & reporting over Atmos content.
- Application Development: rapidly build novel Atmos applications using W3C standards like RDF and SPARQL; use standardized APIs and SDKs to implement your own widgets and mash-ups.
