Solution Description
RSA SecurID® is the market-leading multi-factor authentication system used by more 40 million people across more than 30,000 organizations worldwide. It is engineered to assure user identities and protect against unauthorized access to applications and resources across numerous physical locations. RSA SecurID technology is comprised of both a broad range of hardware and software authenticators that provide end users with a one time password that is designed to change every 60 seconds, as well as its software engine – RSA® Authentication Manager – which scales to support millions of users and provides the benefit of technical certification and interoperability with more than 300 products.
The integration of RSA SecurID enables the eCloudManager to allow a more secure authentication mechanism. An integrated RSA Authentication Agent forwards authentication requests to RSA’s Authentication Manager, which then verifies the user’s credentials and either grants or denies the user access. Hereby, the Authentication Manager has access to both his own user-database and – if it exists – the system’s Active Directory-database.
eCloudManager supports for all its users hardware-, software- and On-demand tokens for the secure authentication process. For more frequent login processes, it is recommended that hardware- or software-tokens are used (e.g. for eCloudManager administrators or end users). Users who require to login less frequently, e.g. eCloudManager Self-Service users, can use On-Demand Tokens to safely login whenever an administration of their self-provisioned services may be required.
Key Features & Solution Benefits
- Ensure data center security and compliance by only allowing authorized users to access sensitive information and to perform complex and highly critical data center tasks (e.g. landscape provisioning).
- Use your own user-database or Active-Directory database and enable the users to securely log into eCloudManager with the tokens they already have in place.
- Get secure login for eCloudManager with minimum effort by following a 30-minute configuration process with RSA.
