Summary:
eCloudManager installer does not accept vCenter credentials and thus cannot be completed. Message "You have supplied the wrong VirtualCenter host or credentials. Please check your entries" shows up even though entries are correct.
Affected Version:
eCloudManager 2.0.0
Analysis:
The installer starts another process. The command line parameters are not properly encoded. Therefore, passwords with some special characters such as ^ are never accepted.
Workaround:
The WebUI is not affected by the issue. Therefore, a temporary user account without these characters in the password must be created in vCenter. Install the software using this user. After installation, the credentials can be switched back to the original user via the configuration page. After that, the temporary user can be deleted.
