OfflineSummary:
eCloudManager is installed, the standalone web UI is working, but the vCenter plugin does not work
Affected Version:
eCloudManager 2.0.0
Analysis 1:
This issue typically has two root causes:
1) vCenter cannot access the eCloudManager webserver. Check this by logging into the vCenter host. From there, open https://localhost/mob/?moid=ExtensionManager&doPath=extensionList%22eCloudManager%22.server. Check whether the vCenter host can access the url listed in the Managed Object Browser.
Workaround 1:
Stop the eCloudManager service, write the correct hostname in the file %INSTALL_DIR%\serverURL.txt and start the service again. Close the vCenter client and open it again.
Analysis 2:
The proxy settings do not allow the IE ActiveX control to connect to the eCloudManager URL on the host where the vCenter client is running.
Workaround 2:
Change the proxy settings such that Internet Explorer can connect to the eCloudManager web UI.
