Using Owlim Repositories with the Information Workbench - Information Workbench - Forum

This guide explains how to use an existing OWLIM repository with the
Information Workbench.

Tested with

  * Information Workbench Community Edition 2.1
  * Bigowlim 4.2

Option a: OWLIM repository is accessed via an HttpRepository

1) Download the Information Workbench Community Edition and install/extract it

2) In %InstallDir%/fiwb/config.prop adjust the following settings:

(For this example, assume that your OWLIM repository is running on host http://localhost:8080/openrdf-sesame/ and has the name owlim) 

repositoryType=remoterepository
repositoryServer=http://localhost:8080/openrdf-sesame/
repositoryName=owlim
loadDBBootstrap=false

Note: there should not be any trailing spaces in the configuration settings.

3) Restart the Information Workbench and go to http://localhost:8888

Option b: OWLIM repository used natively as a SAIL

1) Download the Information Workbench Community Edition and install/extract it

2) Put the required OWLIM libraries into %InstallDir%/fiwb/lib/owlim

3) Adjust the class path entries in …

    … %InstallDir%/fiwb/backend.conf (for X86)
    … %InstallDir%/fiwb/yajsw/backendx64.conf (for x64)
   
   according to the current configuration, e.g. add
   
     wrapper.java.classpath.33=lib/owlim/*.jar
    
4) Copy your OWLIM repository files to %InstallDir%/fiwb/data/dbmodel

    * if dbmodel already exists, make a backup and delete it
    * owlim repository files are the files of your OWLIM repository folder
    * if you do not have an owlim repository yet, the Information Workbench creates an empty one at startup
   
5) In config.prop adjust the following settings:

repositoryType=bigowlim
loadDBBootstrap=false

6) Restart the Information Workbench and go to http://localhost:8888
