Hi all,
I am interested in the way eCloud Manager schedules the virtual machines to the various physical hosts in a cluster.
As far as I know, in "traditional" clusters batch systems (e.g. Torque/ MAUIor SGE) are responsible for this task. What components of eCM is the equivalent ofsuch a batch system? Are the scheduling algorithm provided by VMware (DRS) and XenCenter (WorkloadBalancing) used?

Hi Stefan,
we indeed use the mechanisms / algorithms of vmware or xen to do the provisioning of VMs inside a cluster. But we are also providing load information for the storage, clusters, hosts and different VCs (multi VC support), that can be used for a optimized provisioning.
Regards,
Sebastian
