fluid Operations™ (fluidOps), a young, innovative software company headquartered in Walldorf, Germany, provides an open platform which allows for the semantic integration of structured and unstructured data across business and IT stacks. This basis is leveraged to deliver our cutting-edge infrastructure and cloud monitoring, management and orchestration solution, the eCloudManager™ Product Suite, as well as the Information Workbench™, a cloud-based Linked Data and Big Data management platform. Together, the two products deliver the flexibility needed to optimize information management, data integration, self-service IT, IT operations, and IT service management. To support our continual expansion we are looking to supplement our staff in Walldorf and also in Northern Germany with several
Senior Technical Consultants with extensive experience of data center virtualization, enterprise storage, enterprise business applications or cloud technology (ref. STCe)
as well as
Junior Technical Consultants with some experience of virtualization, enterprise storage, enterprise business applications or cloud technology (ref. JTCe)
Job Description
As technical consultant you will support our customers with their projects to adapt their IT infrastructure to the cloud. You will:
- interact with enterprise customers at a highly technical level in order to design, plan, implement and support complex data center virtualization projects, involving enterprise storage, virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware, Xen, Hyper-V, KVM and others) and enterprise applications;
- establish requirements and design solutions together with our developers;
- plan and coordinate projects with customers and your colleagues in our development departments;
- adapt existing products at the programming level (Java, JSP, RMI, Servlets, JavaScript, Groovy, DRools etc.) in order to satisfy project-specific requirements;
- collaborate to provide design, planning, implementation, training and support of our products;
- support our Presales department wherever necessary, including fairs and presentations.
Work Experience
Candidates with at least six years experience in at least three of the fields stated and with Java programming experience are invited to apply for the position of Senior Technical Consultant. You will be expected to carry responsibility in projects and to accept complex tasks. You should have experience of project management.
Candidates for the post of Junior Technical Consultant should have some experience of topics relevant to data center management, virtualization and multi-tier applications. An understanding of cloud topics and also Java programming experience coupled with the willingness to learn are essential. Motivation and initiative are more important than matching all of our requirements.
For both positions we expect the following personal attributes
- a degree level qualification in an IT subject or comparable work experience in relevant fields and with documented references;
- excellent written and spoken German and English and proven communication skills;
- a high degree of social competence and an impeccable personal presentation;
- initiative, reliability and the ability to work in a team;
- willingness to learn and the ability to share your knowledge with others;
- readiness to travel nationally and internationally;
- programming experience (preferably Java, Groovy or related languages);
- experience with project management (Senior Technical Consultant);
- experience with at least three of the following: Microsoft or Linux x86 server environments, Unix, SAN/NAS, virtualization, networking, security technology, identity management;
- experience with SAP Basis-Administration would be advantageous.
